A nice 5-year-old girl brings her saved coins to school to buy milk for a classmate who can’t afford it.

Sunshine Oelfke, Jackie Oelfke’s 5-year-old niece, was going through her piggy bank one day after school. Jackie asked Sunshine what she was going to do with the money. Jackie’s heart was broken and warmed by the sweet girl’s answer.

Jack said, “She said she was going to bring it to school for milk.” “She looked at me and said, ‘My friend’s mom doesn’t have milk money, but I do.'” So I told her that I had already paid for her milk for the month.

Sunshine said, “I’m bringing milk money to school for my friend because she wants milk and I want her to get milk too.” “Both of us like chocolate milk.”

Sunshine had been putting away extra coins and a few dollars to buy a sled someday, but she chose to help her friend instead because it was more important.

Jackie says her granddaughter drinks milk every day to “get strong for snowmobiling.”

Sunshine and her grandma went to school together the next day. The sweet little girl had several plastic bags full of milk money for a friend. Jackie told Mrs. Smith, the kindergarten teacher, why she brought the money.

The teacher of Sunshine, Rita Hausher, said, “I have always felt sad when I had to tell a student ‘no’ when they asked if they could have milk.” Hausher has often bought milk for students herself. The kind thing Sunshine did moved Mrs. Hauser to tears.

Sunshine gave Jackie the idea to start a GoFundMe to help a classmate pay for milk. The goal is to raise $800 so that everyone can get milk for the rest of the term. She was shocked when kind people from all over the world gave her a total of $19,730.

They had enough money to buy milk for everyone in Sunshine’s class. Now, they’ve chosen to use the extra money to keep buying food and milk for any of Sunshine’s classmates who need it in each grade as she grows up.

Jackie said, “The money will stay with Sunshine as she moves up in school to make sure her friends always have milk.”

Her teacher said, “Because Sunshine was kind to one student, it has grown so much that it now includes everyone, which makes my heart happy.”

“Well, guess what! Sunshine proudly told her grandmother, “Today, my whole class got milk.” “[My friend] has milk money now.”

Her grandmother told her, “She doesn’t know how much of a difference she’s made, but now she knows she can do anything she sets her mind to.”

After leaving Sunshine off at school, watch this video of Jackie, who is crying, talking about how kind her granddaughter is: We love you.
