It took a long time to become a mother, but a miracle did happen.
Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden had their first child together in December 2019. This news spread like wildfire on the internet and became a common way to talk about late motherhood. Diaz gave women who had given up on having children a new chance.
The actress tries to keep her parents’ relationship private, but people who are close to her told her that her parents tried for years to have a child before they finally had a girl named Raddix. “They went through so much to get to this point,” said a person.
Diaz says that she has given more than half of her life to the public, and now she feels it’s okay “to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world.” She is glad, thankful, and happy to start a new decade with a child. And one of her most important goals is to keep her baby safe.

Diaz told Jimmy Fallon in an interview that being with her daughter was like being in heaven. We believe her because she looks so peaceful and clean. Diaz tries to enjoy every moment with her daughter because “every day, there are leaps and bounds” and “she’s not the same baby she was yesterday.”
She went on to say that she and Benji had never had anything like this happen to them. “It’s so rewarding to actually get to see her grow and be a part of it and help her be herself, and it’s just amazing,” she said.
Diaz makes fun of herself by saying that her phone is no longer full of photos of her four dogs and their poop. Now, “Baby Shark” and “Elmo’s Song” are always playing on the couple’s stereo, and the whole family likes it. Diaz is now a happy mom who loves seeing how much her daughter loves her dad when she looks at him.
Even at 47, it’s still hard to be a mother.
Diaz told Naomi Campbell in an interview how she likes to find balance in her life. She knows that a lot of people have kids the other way around, and she said, “They get married and have kids when they’re young. I guess I’m doing it in the second half of my life.” And, finally, she likes having her life to herself. But even in late parenting, there is still some pressure. Diaz said, “I have to be like 107,” which was a joke. So, don’t worry!”
Even so, Diaz is sure that she is in her “sweet spot” and that this is the best time of her life. Even the things she did and places she worked can’t compare to this new phase. “When you’re young, having a family is like doing anything else: you just do it. When you’re my age and decide to do it, it’s a real choice. You have to really work for it.”
Campbell noticed during the talk that Diaz looked more beautiful and happy now than she did before, and that the balance had finally been found.
