Every once in a while, a story comes out that will definitely make you cry. I mean tears of joy.
You’re in luck, though, because we found such a story today. It’s a strong reminder of how important family values are and how much a grandpa loves his growing number of grandchildren.
Doug Hayes, a grandfather from Oregon, wants to give each grandkid a special Christmas gift. Even so, he may have gone above and beyond this year by buying a gift that has become very popular for all the right reasons.
No one can argue that Doug is the Christmas MVP for gifts for the grandkids.
The grandfather of ten grandchildren decided to do things differently by giving each of them a bright yellow school bus.
A school bus? I know you want to know. Yes, a bus so he could drive them all to school and spend time with them every day.
The video of his grandchildren opening the gift was luckily shared on social media, so everyone could see how excited they were.
Is that it? As the kids run toward their find, they can be heard shouting, “You got a bus!”
When asked why he did it, Doug said, “I thought, gee, maybe there’s a way I can give them a memory that will last their whole lives.”
People say that his grandchildren go to a small, Christian elementary school that doesn’t have any buses. The car will be called Grandfather Express, and it will run all year.
Doug, who now seems to be a part-time school bus driver, came up with this plan, and we think it’s great! Your granddad would be the best person to drive you to and from school.
