Trophy shooter who kills elephants and lions that are on the verge of extinction ‘eaten by crocodiles

After human bones were found in two crocodiles, it is thought that they ate a hunter from South Africa. Last week, Scott van Zyl didn’t return from a shooting trip in Zimbabwe. The professional hunter who plans trips for foreign clients is thought to have been eaten by crocodiles on the bank of the Limpopo River. He was with a pack of dogs and a Zimbabwean guide.

It is thought that Mr. van Zyl and his scout exited their truck and walked into the bush in different directions. Later, the dogs returned to the camp, but Mr. van Zyl wasn’t there. His things were found in the car. Rescue teams, including aircraft, trackers, and divers, were sent to look for the hunter.

Later, his tracks were found leading to the river bank, and his rucksack was found close. Sakkie Louwrens, on one of the search teams, said that police thought two Nile crocodiles may have eaten Mr. Van Zyl.

He told The Telegraph, “We found what might be human bones in them.” Experts are looking at the parts to see if they belong to Mr. van Zyl. The website for Mr. van Zyl’s SS Pro trips says that the company “has done many safaris” all over Southern Africa. These include “everything from elephants in Botswana to the smallest blue duiker in KwaZulu Natal.”

It says hunters can go after buffalo, zebra, lions, leopards, and antelopes. Alligators have killed people in the past in the southern part of Zimbabwe.
