Even Ben Affleck, a well-known actor and director, has to figure out how to balance his work and personal life. Affleck’s family is his top priority, and he recently made it clear that he is ready to make the sacrifices needed to be a good parent. Even though balancing the two is hard, Affleck is still positive about the future and excited about his next project.
For him, kids come first.
Affleck said in a recent interview that his divorce and sharing custody of his kids made him rethink his goals. “My children come first,” he said. “I want them to know that they are loved and cared for no matter what.”
He also said he no longer wants to go to Austin, New Orleans, Georgia, or elsewhere and not see his kids. “It just doesn’t work. Too much is riding on these years. The star said, “If I miss them, I’ll be sorry for the rest of my life.”
The star and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner have three kids together, and he is also a stepfather to Jennifer Lopez’s twins. He said living in Los Angeles lets him attend important events for his children, like basketball games and jazz shows.

His budding project with his longtime friend
The 50-year-old actor also talked with his longtime friend and fellow actor Matt Damon about his new production business and their upcoming movie, Air. Affleck said he knew he wanted to grow his career while living close to home in Los Angeles, so he focused on producing.
The actor stressed the importance of being there for his family and balancing his work with his responsibilities as a dad. Affleck said, “I want to have a fulfilling job and be there for my kids.” “This new project with Matt is so exciting because of this. We can still be close to home and work on interesting projects.” He also said, “I know that with Matt by my side, we can make something great.”
Prioritizing his family earned him more respect from his fans.
Affleck also said that people take him seriously when he talks about his goals as a father and why he wants to put his family first.
“People look at you as a character and think, ‘He doesn’t mean that.’ “But in business, they treat it as a holy rule,” he said. “They’ll say, ‘Yeah, well, we were supposed to have that meeting with the heads of the Five Families, but you were at your kid’s basketball game.'”
The star then talked about how hard it is to be a parent today, especially if you have kids 11, 14, and 17 who go to different schools and do different things. “It turns out that raising kids in this day and age is a full-time job in and of itself,” he said.
Affleck’s dedication to his kids and willingness to put them first has won him respect and understanding at work.
He’s also keeping up with changes in the movie industry.
In the last part of the chat, the actor and director talked about how streaming services now compete with movies. He said that Violet, 17 years old, has even questioned whether the film is a real art form.
“My daughter is 17. She spends most of her time doing the opposite of what her parents have spent their lives doing. For example, she says, “I’m not sure film is really… Do you think it’s a real art form?” Affleck said.
Affleck said, “Anyway, I went into it thinking, ‘Okay, these movies aren’t working anymore. And these are my favorites.”
Affleck is handling his job as a father and trying to figure out how the entertainment business is changing. Still, he stays committed to his work and is eager to change with the changing needs of his job.
